Our birth and postpartum doulas are here to guide you, support you and provide non-judgmental care. Each doula on our team is certified and trained in many different support methods to best care for you in the most transformative time of your life.

We will be happy to do a in home consultation or meet at a location that works best for you! If there is a doula (or two) that you would prefer to meet please be sure to advise of their names in the comments section of the contact form. Availability is based on each doulas schedule and we will do our best to accommodate your needs and wishes!

Nadine Ross Toronto Birth & Postpartum Doula



Nadine is a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula, Placenta Specialist – APPAC®, and member of Evidence Based Birth. She currently volunteers on the board of directors with the Association of Ontario Doulas, and forms part of the Birth Doula program at Markham Stouffville Hospital. As a Doula she believes that better support during pregnancy, birth and postnatal periods creates stronger and healthier families. Nadine envisions creating change in her community and building stronger families through support and education.

Mara Richardson Toronto Doula



Mara is a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a Holistic Nutritionist and Yoga instructor. She specializes in nutritional support during pregnancy and postpartum, and teaches prenatal yoga. Mara believes in delivering evidence based information to educate her clients and prepare them to advocate for their birth wishes. Mara supports her clients spiritually and emotionally through this transformational experience. She holds space, and offers her calm energy, to create a safe environment for her clients.

Carissa Marks Toronto Doula



Carissa is a Doula Canada Certified Labour and Postpartum Doula, is a Doula instructor with Doula Canada and is working towards her Childbirth Educator Certification. Carissa was born and raised in Toronto, and worked as a Cardiac Technologist, Phlebotomist, and in Health and Safety for the Provincial Government. She decided to become a full time Doula in 2018. She is the single mother of two beautiful grown daughters and an auntie to one amazing nephew.

Kayt (she/her) is an Indigenous wholistic practitioner. She is trained as a birth and postpartum doula, social worker, and yoga instructor. Kayt uses her eclectic wellness background of birth work, yoga, traditional knowledge, and social work to assist individuals and family seeking support, utilizing approaches such as trauma informed birth work and anti-oppressive modalities to best serve her clientele. She prioritizes education, informed consent, and client autonomy, and informs, supports, and advocates with parents to achieve their desired outcomes.

Nikita Shahamet Toronto Doula



Passionate and intuitive, Nikita uses her skills to provide families with comfort and care through labour and postpartum. Nikita uses her knowledge to empower her clients to embrace a personal pregnancy & postpartum healing journey. Assisting families through their many fluctuations of birthing, breast & chest feeding and adjusting to life at home. Nikita is an inclusive LGBTQ+ advocate and believes all families should have the opportunity to experience birth and childbearing in their preferred way. She is here to provide knowledge, a sense of calm and support each family to their individual needs.

Kiera James Toronto Doula



Empathetic and intuitive, Kiera incorporates her skills and compassionate personality together to provide families with the best tools and support for them to make empowering decisions best suited for them. Her mission is to provide unbiased, non-judgmental support to parents in need with a focus of preventing the risks of Postpartum Mood Disorders. Kiera believes that every parent has the right to be informed and to experience the birth they desire without judgement or shame. As your birth and postpartum advocate, Kiera will ensure you are provided with all the evidence based resources and encouragement for families to stand firm in their decisions.

Amelia Rebolo Placenta Encapsulation Toronto



Placenta Encapsulation is a way that you can help prepare for your postpartum recovery. The process involves having your placenta prepared into a capsule form in order to take it throughout your postpartum period. This practice has regained popularity in the past few years and we are pleased to offer this service to you!

Deanna Alves Toronto Doula



Deanna is a calm and compassionate postpartum doula. She has always felt a strong desire to nurture and help others. She has since completed Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula training. She offers heart-centered care to birthers and their families as well as; provides tools to help birthers empower themselves and heal during this sensitive time. She is especially passionate about cooking and loves to nourish families with healing meals and beverages during their postpartum. In her practice, she incorporates the variety of holistic modalities she has learned over the years including Ayurveda, Herbalism, meditation and Reiki.




Stephanie helps parents who have had a surgical birth access and understand the gold standards of care for birthing after cesarean. Birthing is only one part of this parenting journey. With over 20 years experience and through her one to one doula support and consultation services she cultivates a relationship by supporting families before, during and after birth.

Stephanie envisions a time where parents, care providers and birthing systems will work together to prevent the unnecessary primary cesarean, and to offer those who choose vbac respectful, collaborative, community care.

Marj Wong Toronto Doula



Marj is a birth and postpartum doula, a yoga/fitness instructor, an essential oil educator, and a mom of two! She is deeply committed to wellness as a holistic lifestyle. As a DONA certified doula, Marj believes that it is within each birthing person’s innate wisdom and ability to give birth. Further, she believes that birthing should be an empowering experience. Throughout both of her own pregnancies Marj practiced prenatal yoga, and she attributes her own remarkable birth experiences to her yoga practice and the HypnoBirthing method.




Kim is a passionate and intuitive birth and postpartum doula, wife and mom of three beautiful children. With a background in psychology she believes strongly in supporting the mental health of pregnant and postpartum people and that her role as a doula is pivotal. She respects the decisions of the birthing and postpartum person and always provides support in a loving, non judgemental way. She uses her knowledge and experience to help empower her clients and foster informed consent. Having had a planned VBAC2 (vaginal birth after two cesareans), Kim is especially passionate about supporting birthing people in their decision to choose a vaginal birth after cesarean and navigating all of the decisions, planning and emotional support that it requires.

Kim has completed her birth and postpartum doula training through CAPPA and completed the Birth Doula Program Apprenticeship at Markham Stouffville hospital.




Vanessa worked in several daycares where she utilized her knowledge in the infant, toddler and school age rooms. After working in daycare centres she dedicated more than 17 years of her life working as a full and part-time nanny, taking care of newborns, toddlers and school age children. She is also trained with Dona international as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Moreover, she now coaches families with everyday parenting challenges. As a Nanny, Babysitter, Doula and Parenting Coach she encourages Compassion, Understanding, Team Work, A Judgment Free Space, Good Communication Skills, Open Mindedness, Creativity, Love and Respect.




As a certified birth doula, Sandra completed an internship with the doula training program at the Scarborough Hospital, trained as a prenatal yoga instructor with Blooma, and joined the mentorship program Awakening the Village at the Centre for Growing Families. As part of her hands-on experience, she completed one-year mentorship full time program and the Hypnobirthing training with birth and postpartum doula, Karen MacWilliam. As a certified interpreter, she works along midwives with Spanish speaking families during appointments or conducting prenatal classes in that language. She has also been working as an administrative assistant at several midwifery clinics in Toronto. Sandra is a wife, mother, stepmom, and active grandmother to a 3-years-old toddler.
