BIRTH, POSTPARTUM & NIGHT DOULA (DONA)

CANDACE CAIN

SHE/HER

BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA

My pull in this direction started after the birth of my own daughter. During my pregnancy and more specifically after I had my daughter I really realized the strong need birthers have for support. I am a strong advocate for responsive parenting and I believe the best way to achieve that is by supporting the birther. We often hear the term it takes a village and I truly believe that’s the case. I can be your village. I’m passionate about helping you advocate for yourself, providing evidence based non judgmental information and support and I think most importantly being there along side you for the journey. Whether it’s your 1st or your 5th pregnancy, it’s a major milestone. I make it my work to support you every step of the way.

nikole bw

NIKOLE VALI

BIRTH DOULA

SHE/HER

Nikole spent her childhood in Zimbabwe and then moved to the UK when she was 21. Her journey to becoming a doula began after visiting Canada for the birth of her second nephew. Nikole did not expect to be present at the birth and to her surprise, her brother and sister-in-law invited her into the birthing room. It was at that birth, watching her sister-in-law raw through her sensations , and supporting her brother who seemed like he was going to pass out as well as being the nurses assistant that Nikole found her true calling. Nikole was there from the beginning to the end and from that day the experience made her realize that doula work was her true calling. Soon after Nikole moved to Canada and began her journey.

Nikole is formally trained as a Birth & Postpartum Doula with Doula Training Canada. She deepened her doula practice as a volunteer birth doula in rural Tanzania, Africa in 2019. Her compassion & empathy towards clients comes from a deep respect of the incredibly strong & empowering women she has worked with.

BIRTH, POSTPARTUM & NIGHT DOULA

My passion is human connection. I aim to help pregnant women and their families connect through pregnancy, during birth, and as a new family. My goal is to give you the best experience in childbirth through advocacy, education, and self-empowerment.

These experiences gave me unique insights into the emotional rollercoaster that parents endure during such difficult times. Motivated by my experiences, I desired to make a difference.

I studied to become a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator through Doula Canada. I provide unwavering support to expectant mothers and their partners throughout the birthing process. My calming presence and expertise help families navigate the complexities of labor and delivery with confidence and ease.

BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA

Hello! I’m Doris—an Indigenous/Latinx doula, nurse, and mother. My own beautiful birth & postpartum journey inspired me to ensure no one feels alone on this life changing journey. I’m here to provide support, guidance, and care every step of the way.

Mission:

As a doula deeply rooted in my Indigenous heritage, my mission is to honor the sacred and unique journey of each birthing person. I strive to provide compassionate, holistic support that honors both traditional Indigenous practices and the wisdom of Western medicine when necessary. With respect for the teachings passed down from my elders, I blend ancient healing traditions with modern approaches, offering a balanced and empowered experience for those I serve.

My Unique Approach:

As a doula grounded in my Indigenous heritage, I believe in blending traditional practices from my elders with modern medicine when needed. I continue to learn and grow, offering personalized support that honors each birthing person’s body, spirit, and choices, creating a safe, balanced experience.

Why choose me:

As an Indigenous doula, nurse, and mother, I offer a unique, hands-on approach to your experience. I draw on my cultural heritage, nursing knowledge, and personal motherhood experience to provide compassionate, informed care. I believe in honoring your body and energy, allowing your instincts to guide the journey.
